I know many have recently taken us up on our offer of testing the brand new Azor razor, launched to take on Gillette and Wilkinson and the other giants by shaving closer, lasting longer and costing less.

The King of Shaves company have huge passion and were founded by Will King in his kitchen.  He was frustrated at the sheer lack of good shaving products and needed to find a cure to ease the pain of shaving.

I feel a synergy with this story, I only started FMB because I couldn’t find good blogs and was sick of reading spam and rubbish.  I had no idea how or where we would go with this, but perservered and hopefully we can keep growing.

I recently met Will King, in London.

Will is a blogger, he has no PR company working for him and personally reads each and every blog that mention his products, how he finds time to do this, I have no idea, but I do know that when I email him at midnight, he responds straight away.  Many of you that have reviewed the Azor will have had a comment from Will himself on your blog.

When I met Will, I explained that we do not pay the bloggers to review products, nor do we tell them what to write, I explained that the bloggers have readers to consider and being honest when reviewing is key to keeping those readers, the reviews could be negative..  Will understood straight away.  He has put so much energy and effort into launching the Azor that he was willing to let hundreds and maybe thousands of people write truthfully about his product range.

In my opinion, if you have a product to sell, you should be 100% confident in it, if not, why launch it?

Will did this and after having my first shave with the Azor just now, I now know why every single blog review has been so positive.  I, like everyone I have spoken to, wanted to find fault, enable a mixed review.

I can’t.  I has changed the way I think about the way razors should look and feel and in my opinion, will change the way everyone else produces razors.  I didn’t want to review the shaving experience on this blog (I will write the review on my own blog.) I can not be anything but in awe of the way Will, Tim and his team work over at King of Shaves.  If every company understood the benefits in talking to bloggers and engaging the little guys like Fuelmyblog, as they have done, wouldn’t life be grand, they even entered a recipe in the Global Cookbook (now ready for purchase with proceeds going to charity).  And for those of us that don’t shave our faces, they are launching a female razor soon :)

Below is the blogger pack I received.  Trust me, if you are in the postition to try one out (we have plenty to give out if you’ll review them) – do let me know by email (sooner rather than later).

I received a new Azor, some shave gel (which alone is a great product) and the info pack with a CD containing images and logo’s.

This week I have been in back-to-back meetings all around London with business owners, talking about blogging.

One meeting I had was with Will King, founder of The King of Shaves.  I was particularily keen to meet Will as he knows the pains involved with starting-up a company from home and trying to take on the big boys, in his case Gillette, mine MyBlogLog (yes I know, big difference, but similar pains, getting in front of people etc!).  His oil was a product I used before I left to live in France with the family, and then those damn liquid restrictions on Planes kicked-in, rendering it impossible to bring back and forth razors and liquids.  I digress..

Will and his company recently brought out a razor called the Azor, to challenge and beat the overpriced corporates and in his own words ” Shaves closer, longer and for less”.  I have to confess that I haven’t tried one as yet, hopefully, the guys will send one to me in France, beating the travel restrictions – I will blog the results as a comparison on video, now that will be different!

Anyhow, again, I digress.  The team have a “Battle Bus” touring the UK to promote the Azor and of course, some lucky people are getting to find out there and then how the razor works with demonstrations taking place, take a look here at their blog, their flickr set and youtube vid’s (I think we can say they understand social media).  Will and Tim at The King of Shaves have offered to give bloggers on Fuelmyblog a bit of a VIB (Very Important Blogger) treatment.  During the next week, the bus will be in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle (dates and time here)- by being a member of this great community (and of course living near will help!) they are offering to shave you (guys only sorry!) and let you into to the exclusive VIB zone where you can chill, use some wifi and blog the experience!  I would suggest taking someone to film the shave it would make a great fun post – I know MrsD would take great joy in filming me shaved and blog it!  They will have some exclusive (first come first served) blogger packs to take away with you too.

If you are in the area, and want to take part, please email mail me on info at fuelmyblog.com asap, you will be sent a time and date from the guys directly and you will also get to meet the team behind the Azor.

We will be involving a wider spread of shavers on FMB with The King of Shaves soon, the Azor is available in the US too..so don’t worry!

I hope to post on here pics of those on FMB already confirmed as going :)
