Hey there Fuelmyblog friends, Damien here from Postcards from the Funny Farm. Hope you are well and enjoying blog success. I was out cleaning my pool this morning thinking about (of all things) Fuelmyblog and the many possible ways there are to actually “fuel” ones blog traffic. Then I laid the vacuum down to compose a list that started coming to me.
The list was all the stuff I do every day to get my blog out there. Actually I have three blogs I do this for every day, but the biggest of the three is currently Postcards. I can say wholeheartedly the success I enjoy there is mostly due to defining priorities and setting the right goals.
Every day, I visit the fuelmyblog.com site and fuel the blogs I like. After that, I do other stuff that helps my 3 blogs get out there in “the mix.” Maybe by reading some stuff I do, you’ll get some ideas of your own.
My three priorities in blogging are: 1) Circulation, 2) Analytics, and 3) Net. Like I said earlier, priorities such as these are KEY to setting the right blog goals (whatever yours may be). Here are some actions I do in sync with my 3 blogging priorities:
- Circulation (incoming links): guest blog, comment on “dofollow” blogs, link to yourself from your other urls, other.
- Analytics: Write great content, use social media, tell your friends about posts, comment around on blogs you like.
- Net: Check ______ for opps, write opps, include text-links, Make sure you have a “hireme page” that is updated.
These are just a few examples. You can read much more about my blogging priorities as well as ongoing progress here. I call it the CAN blog self rating system. You can also see what I am doing with my newest blogging endeavor “Dynamite Lesson Plan.” Oh, one more thing … I report what I am making, and how I make it here. Giving back to the community is key to all this for me. As I close, remember this with regards to blog success, or any other success for that matter,
If you aim at nothing, you will surely hit it.
Could you narrow your blogging priorities down to just three things? If so, what would they be?
