Hiya, Tango here.
I’ve been kidnapped and canoodled (sigh) but I’m back …
I’m working on a new project (details to follow) so I’ve spent the last few weeks in and out of WordPress, learning CSS and PHP and all kinds of groovy stuff. I can’t quite keep up with Penfold’s turbo learning curve but I’m having fun nonetheless.
I started Atomic-dogmA years ago on Blogger mostly because it seemed like the easiest solution for getting started. After playing around with WordPress I can see why so many people have decided to make the switch. Fracas wrote a great summary of the pros and cons of the popular solutions in her comment to one of my earlier posts. I quite like WordPress and I doubt I’ll ever go back.
But today Blogger restored my faith in Google. I needed a distraction from work so I started tweaking Atomic-dogmA and discovered Blogger’s new blogroll widget. Hooray for Google yet again!
Since it reads directly from my Google RSS reader I no longer have to maintain a separate list for my blogroll. And the snippets from each post let me keep up on the gossip in my bloggy bubble. For example, today I know that Penfold’s Emporium just released a new header (theme to follow) and launched GTZero.com, a groovy portfolio site for the talented brotherly duo. Nursemyra’s patients at the Gimcrack (PG warning) are behaving uncharacteristically well, DaddyP (uncharacteristically serious … ooooh right, it’s Sunday) is sadly saying goodbye to a remarkable woman, and Daisyfae’s boy is learning uncharacteristic life lessons from the backwoods pizza parlor.
So WordPress may be loverly, but I haven’t given up entirely on Blogger and Google’s clever ways to dominate the world’s data.
Okay, enough gossip. Back to work!
