World Exclusive – Sony Ericsson Blog Competition

We were contacted this week by the folks at Sony Ericsson.  They wanted to give the bloggers on Fuelmyblog an exclusive preview to its blog competition before being announced in a global press release next week.  FYI this cannot be found on their site or anywhere- you are the first bloggers in the World to know about the additional prize :)

World View 2008 unites the global camera phone community through its international search for the best camera phone photographers of the year.

The site shows two prizes, for the best photograph, one judged by a panel of professionals, one most voted for.  As of right now, bloggers will also get the chance to win a holiday.  To be in with a chance to win, simply add their widget to your blog (can be found here – not any links to it yet on their site).  How to win:-

1.  One randomly selected blog displaying the widget will be selected.
2.  The blog that delivers the most traffic to the site from its blog.

The competition runs until 31st October 2008.

Simple – good luck, our widget is on – we could do with winning a holiday worth between $3k and $6k!

What do you do at 5:10pm? Win an iPhone 3G..

We are teaming up again with TSheets for another fun competition. This time, the challenge is simple, what does the blogosphere do at 5:10pm? The most fun and creative entry will win a new iPhone 3G..How’s about that then!

Why 5:10pm? Here, straight from the TSheets blog is their reasoning:-

“5:10pm is possibly one of the most celebrated times all around the world. You’re free. Great God almighty, I’m free at last! Granted, at 10 after 5 you may or may not be calling it a day, but by most standards you’re free to go if you so choose. And this is exactly what we want to hear about. How do you rock it at 5:10? What’s the coolest, craziest, most creative thing you do at 5:10? Tell us all about it…maybe you load up the iPod and have your favorite DJ slam your subway ride home? Is 5:10 the time that you slip the wingtips under the desk, strap your Specialized shoes on and blaze through commuter traffic all the while chasing Lance Armstrong along the Champs-Élysées? Send us as many entries as you’d like. Talk to us!”

How to enter:-

Take a picture, shoot a video and write a post (without picture or video should you prefer), the picture or video needs to be what you do or did at 5:10pm..You are not restricted to entering once, so be creative..

Please make sure to leave a link to the blog post in the comments here or on their work of art there..

On July 24th Matt Rissell, (CEO of TSheets.com), will announce the iPhone winners during the award ceremony with Brandon Zehm, CTO of TSheets.com.

  • Something indicating that it is 5:10pm (examples = Picture with clock in the background, Video with clock, or blog posted at 5:10pm).
  • A link labeled “time tracking” linked to http://www.tsheets.com and a comment on this page or their page here so that we can find your entry, tagging fuelmyblog will flag an email to us.

The ipod Winners thanks to TSheets.com

We just made the live show and recorded it twice..you’ll be glad to hear we are looking for a new provider for online shows in the future..

The show was great and when live we had no lagging and were actually conversing, unfortunately, the recorded version seems to let Matt speak about ten seconds before I talk to him! Which is actually lucky as it means you get to hear what Matt is saying, and yes, it is more interesting than what I had to say!

So without further a do, I give you the results and winners of the iPods:-
(those not wishing to watch can go to the site to see who won here but you’ll miss some priceless TV, trust me!)

Tsheets Winners -

Ok so we did do another show but this is really hard to watch but you’ll really enjoy what we are asking the users of fuelmyblog. Basically, Matt and the team at Tsheets want to sponsor another competition. We are opening this to you guys, what do you want as a theme. Matt has a great idea, their logo is below, a clock that shows the time 10 past 5. So the idea is, if everyone took a photo of what happens to them at 5.10pm everyday and submitted it, Tsheets will choose one winner, maybe the most creative or random, over a month there are a lot of different options. My idea is to take photos on your way in to work, it could be a walk to the office, train ride even a stroll to the living room just like Random Place of Mind did. But our ideas are just the start, put your thinking caps on and lets create a fun competition!

This is open to you, what would you like as a time or work based theme for a competition? What prize? We’ll do a live show next Tuesday to announce what it will be. We hope to do it from a different source! If you want to see the recording, for my sins, it is below, again, more comedy due to the enormous lag but great content in there, enjoy!!:-

The Ipod winners..
