I’ve been blogging for quite some time now and thankfully to Akismet and Wordpress, SPAM comments are held at bay, but, they are a pain in the backside!

Recently my blogs had a spate of comments that were clearly SPAM and were mainly for prescription drugs, porn sites and the like, so why do these people post a comment on a blog that has nothing to do with the original post or the blog itself?

It seems that most of these comments are made through “bots” and they search out certain terms and when they find that term on your blog, bang!, they post a spam comment, which then in turn you have to delete from your spam box, I mean, come on, don’t they know that the majority of bloggers have an anti-spam plugin running anyway and it’s just not going to get posted!

So why do these tiny minded cretins do it anyway, well, putting it simply they have nothing better to do, all they seem to be concerned about in life is how many people they can bombard with their complete and utter rubbish in the hope that they will make some money, my advice is go and get a job, yes you may have to work hard to get paid, but at the end of the day you may just learn something new, like a skill which will help you out in life.

My advice to all bloggers is: If you are using a blogging platform that has an anti-spam plugin then USE IT and careful read all your comments as some can look innocent until you concentrate on them and see that they are really something else!
