Today is known as the most depressing day of the year according to seasonal disorder experts:  it’s Blue Monday!

This morning while catching up with twitter one tweet caught my attention from AModernMother:

#bloggersforHaiti

The Haiti disaster puts things into perspective, if all we have to worry about is the fact that the weather is grey outside,  broken  New Year resolutions and accumulated credit card bills…we really have to start taking a good look at ourselves.

Let’s turn a bit of that negative energy into something good and join this campaign started by British Mummy Bloggers to raise awareness on the people of Haiti WHO ARE really in need and point out the relevant donation websites :

DEC-Haiti-PosterBW

Bloggers for Haiti Just Giving Page

Save The Children

DEC Haiti Earthquake appeal

UNICEF

shelterbox.org

www.dec.org.uk/donate

Bloggers join the campaign, spread this across twitter and Facebook  using #bloggersforhaiti

What a tragedy.A few weeks ago I was laying down at night and my bed shook very hard. It was an earthquake! No damage or lifes were taken but it was enough to scare me.Earthquakes really make me scared.I get quite desoriented after it.It was the third time I felt one.So everytime I see Haiti photos or news I remember those shakes and I feel even worse about what this people is going through. When I saw NBC videos shoot from the air I could hardly believe it.It looked as lots of Gullivers had been walking all over the cities.Jut horrible.I think portuguese will donate a lot because we are very aware of earthquake destruction.Lisbon was once destroyed by a great one and experts say it will happen again. It’s all very sad.

With aid pouring in, but still so many people missing and loved ones not knowing if they’re alive or not… and with people out there who have already given or who are financially not able to give right now, there’s an option for how to help by giving of yourself and your time.

I’ve written about it at the fracas blog, and those who would like to read what I wrote about it are more than welcome to, but I will leave the link here so that those who don’t want to read what I wrote can just go there and figure it out for themselves.
