A little while back we arranged to send out a selection of bloggers on a Butlins retreat of their choice.
The reviews and feedback from the bloggers have given a great insight on what to expect from a short break in Butlins resorts.
Having read all the posts on Butlins one thing stood out: service seems to be a high priority, the choice of activities and entertainment have all been highlighted by the bloggers.
Lynda Garner went with her family to the resort in Bognor Regis, here is her experience of the week-end:
We arrived at Butlins, Bognor Regis, at about 14.15 Friday afternoon and couldn’t wait to have a look round.
We were given the keys, dinner cards and entertainment guide and headed off to our deluxe cabin. On arrival we were very impressed, a small garden led to some patio doors, inside was a lovely front room with 2 leather sofas and t.v (most important..) in the corner a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities (kettle). Next to the front room was another huge room with 2 single beds and a huge double wardrobe and dresser, this was home for me and my daughter for the weekend, leading off from the front room was some stairs which led to a bathroom and another huge room with double bed and wardrobe and had a lovely balcony.
We found so many things to do we wondered how we were going to fit it all in! there was a fun fair, bikes and go-carts for hire, a huge indoor pool with tubes and slides, lots of places to eat and drink not to mention the activities put on by the enormous amount of staff.
The fun started at 10.00 am and went on until midnight with something for everyone and any age, from clowning around, meet bob the builder, cheer-leading, to live music in the evening followed by an adult only disco at 11.00pm
Our given restaurant to eat in was the Yacht club, and on arrival there we were stunned, it was very grand, spotlessly clean (important to mum) and the choice of food was amazing. After dinner we headed back to the cabin to change for the evening fun, we wanted to look our best as we heard that Eoghan Quigg from the x factor was going to be performing…much to my daughter’s absolute delight. We grabbed a table and settled down to enjoy the evening. We were entertained by dancing, singing and comedy and a great performance by Eoghan finished off by my daughter getting his autograph and having her picture with him!
Breakfast was again another treat: eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, omelette’s, toast, fruit… We filled up and headed off to the beach to enjoy a day in the sun and then headed back to Butlins, we went on the fun fair and hired a family bike, enjoyed the pool followed by another great evening.
Our final day soon came round and after a wander round Bognor buying some souvenirs we headed back to the pool and also enjoyed a game of crazy golf.
Some of the things on site were pricey but you expect that, anyone going self catering I would advise they take their own food and drink. There were lots to do for younger children and my daughter was kept busy, my twins of nearly 14 may have been bored (but didn’t come).
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and would definitely go back again.
Also went to Butlins: 70 Steen, Owen Cutjar, engineeroom, contest-corner, rockangel, sam and her family

So much fun, the wee one shrunk with happiness while merely sitting in a chair!
It’s really nice you all had such a wonderful time. You did remember to bring back leftovers…for the rest of us…didn’t you?
we had the best of times in Skegness… Thank you so much FMB and Butlins for the total chill factor of the break away
Yep we would do it again
I can’t wait to read all the other blog reviews! We had such a lovely time – reading about the food at the Yacht Club makes me long to be there again!
Beeb the food was fabulous … I so want to go back
Me and my OH had an awesome time when we went at the end of June. We even booked our holiday for next year! So exciting! lol
