Important Info For Fuellers

As of this date a new directive from the bureaucrats at Brussels comes into effect. This has greatly increased our workload and will have considerable consequences for Fuelmyblog.

This is a copy of an email sent to us recently:-

“There is growing concern amongst all member states about social media sites. Hence the new Resolution 1267 [Sub-category social media sites and forums] stating ‘ The objective of control to maintain specific status must guarantee an acceptable standard according to Directive 125 of the member States’ and necessitating a requirement, under arrangements made for scrutiny and moderation for open sites, of due diligence. As a result the FuelMyBlog website must be sub-divided to enable proper and prudent assessment from sources unknown, in order to maintain standards acceptable to the aforementioned member States.’ It is imperative that this is enforced as soon as practically possible.”

Basically this means that FuelMyBlog will have to be sub-divided into categories separating EU Bloggers from the rest of the world and probably sub-sub-categories so that, for instance Wales, Scotland, N. Ireland, North and South England will have their own niches, due to language and cultural differences. Apparently sub-divisions of other member states aren’t that important.

The exact ramifications are unclear at the moment but the back room boys are working on it.

Just be aware that different URLs might be applicable depending on where you live.

There will be a translation of this tomorrow if you live in America, Canada or Australia.

Oh dear Sylvie… I do look forward to that translation since as you know, we Canadians rarely understand what goes on across the pond. We’re simple minded folk here, and truly only understand such things as photos of big boobs and cold bottles of beer.

Okay, once in a while we might play hockey too, but only if there are no boobs to focus on and the beer is gone.

    [I think I win.... ;-) ]

do you think it will go down to sub-sub-sub-sub category ….. i.e. you will be a unique category on your own ?? That can’t be right.

At least it will cut down on translator fees betwin norff & souuufff in’t future

1- it had to happen one day or another…
2- Canada sounds magical. I have never been myself I certainly would not say Canadians are simple minded – they have their priorities right unlike certain bureaucrats it would seem.
3-not too sure about that – it would make sense, the text is all very unclear probably on purpose…I wonder in which category I will have to belong to…

I like the implementation of translation but separating EU Bloggers from the rest of the world is not a good idea for me.

This is the first bit of common sense that has emanated from the EU bureaucrats since they were formed all those years ago. I’m always complaining that understanding in social media sites is very heavily hampered by the incorrect use of English.

At last there is some hope of some sense at last – 3 cheers!

[Sorry to hear about all the extra work for you guys - still there you go]

Read this after lunch time, April Fools on you, then.

So saying that, I’ve got to ask what exactly I get for being in a “member state” – and before my mind goes down into the gutter, I’m only protesting because Facebook and Twitter don’t consider me a “member” at all.

@the JR People who can speak two languages or use both hands as effectively as each other will have to be sub-divided …… obviously. People who hover sexually can have a choice – as they would in real life ……

My goodness, FMB have got so much to take into consideration …… still, I reckon they can manage ……. even with Sylvie sticking her oar in ….

No translation yet? Pity. I can’t wait to find out if they require you to also have separate cupboards in the forum too.

Other questions I’m waiting to have a translation help me with:

    1. What about separating those who think Uma Thurman is fascinated with them, from those who know better?
    Will this happen?

    2. Will you have to separate those who’ve abused Olga the Traveling Bra from those who haven’t?

I’m feeling rather worried about your workload Sylvie. Please don’t rush with the translation… you have so much to worry about already.
