Some of you will have already had the pleasure of receiving and reviewing a free Tshirt from iffyton, the fictional high street of T-Shirts.  I have managed to do a deal with them, for just the cost of postage and packing, everyone on Fuelmyblog can get a “free” TShirt.  What I want though is to create a fuelmyblog Tshirt – one we can all be proud of!

So here are my thoughts:-

If we all put on our designer heads and come up with ideas, whether drawn on the back of business cards, sketched on an index card or designed by the gurus – we should be able to come up with something great.

If anyone that wants to have a design attempt, stick it on your blog, link to this post and we’ll run an impromptu competition to see who is the best – maybe a closing date of next Friday?  Don’t spend ages on it, just show us your ideas.

Things it needs to include are the fuelmyblog logo feel free to grab the one below, it should include your FMB username (as we should be able to print those per order) and maybe a “vote for me” or “fuel me up.

This one is totally open to ideas and can take on whichever direction we want, so unleash your creative juices..

I will put the winning designers blogurl or name on each shirt – eg designed by..

I have also convinced the guys at iffyton to let us create a Twitter shirt too (although that won’t be free), we’ll do that after.

Please help me spread the word, the more input the better!

Cheers

Kevin

Time frame for this one, Kevin? (BTW, you really should check your drafts you know for the blog.)

The juices needed for creation …… mmmmmm ……. this could get quite interesting….. and messy. I think I’ll go and put my Mac on …….

To save me time, which I hate to waste as you know, what typeface does FMB use?

  7. JohnC (316 comments) says:

Kevin – Well, when the post posted and timeframe and all I didn’t know if he meant the ‘next’ Friday as in today now, cause ‘then’ when he posted it was before ‘this’ ‘now’…which was the ‘next’ then.

I think ‘juices’ referenced by DP were intended as being ‘brain juices’…and of course DP being intelligent and not able to hold himself, he’d have those brain juices just comin’ out his ears.

    ‘Brain juices’…is of course…what I’m talkin’ about.

…what’d you think he meant, Kevin? :giggle snort:

I believe is Gill Sans MT – I could be wrong, usually am..

JC – I have met DP – I have seen the bag..I know what juices..

…got jpg? (OMG, I just lost an ovary!)

  11. Daddy Papersurfer (1727 comments) says:

I’d just like to say that that was a bag of grapes that I’d just sat on ……

  12. fracas (542 comments) says:

I think Kevin’s original “yuk” was accurate, and having spent considerable time around the DP office (please make sure to note that I said oFFice, not orifice) I can assure you it was not a bag of grapes. Grapes smell good.

Ah well, he is a good boss in so many other ways…

  13. fracas (542 comments) says:

So Kevin, do I understand correctly that the folks whose designs are chosen are the ones who will get a free t-shirt?

    This line:

“I have managed to do a deal with them, for just the cost of postage and packing, everyone on Fuelmyblog can get a “free” TShirt.”

just might make some think that literally everyone on FMB… as in everyone registered, (which is quite a number by now)
will get a free shirt. I doubt iffyton is willing to give out that many free shirts… could cost them a ridiculous amount. Could you clarify that? Am I right to assume you meant those whose designs are chosen will get a free shirt?

    Thanks!

  14. Kevind (142 comments) says:

@fracas – Ok so the actual shirt is free to all Fuelmyblog users but everyone will need to pay the cost of P&P (which will depend on where you live eg is £3.60 anywhere in the UK)- so if we get 20,000 orders for Fuelmyblog shirts and they all pay the cost to get it delivered, they will pay no more than delivery. I will confirm delivery costs to Canada, USA and Malaysia, Australia etc.

I will select one design for the shirt and that winner will of course get some free shirts, I’ll shout delivery too!

If that is unclear, please ask again :)

I am confused by the grapes comment above..he did keep mentioning grapes…

  15. Daddy Papersurfer (1727 comments) says:

I kept mentioning GRIPES …… please see my letter collection ……… tsk …… [young people nowadays never listen and when they talk, it's usually in a whisper ..... tsk]

    eheheh!!I am confused too!ehehehehh!!

    (Just kidding,Kevin…)

  17. fracas (542 comments) says:

    A) Kevin… holy frac, that might be a hefty bill for iffyton since they’d be covering the cost for that many shirts. Nice folks, obviously! It sounded like a ‘too good to be true’ kind of deal, but wow, and omg.

    B) DP, you most clearly posted ‘grApes’ in your comment (#11) so don’t try get out of it now. Sheesh. What with trying to excuse yourself for killing flies at your blog (PETI has been notified) and now trying to pretend you didn’t say grapes… you’re just a big bag of trouble today, aren’t you?
Has it occurred to you that the odour from the grapes you sat on might be the reason you had flies in the first place?

    C) Sylvie… regarding item B… is there a possibility someone’s forgotten to leave his meds in the cupboard? I haven’t been by in a while, so just checking… there must be an explanation for all this extraordinary nonsense today.

  18. fracas (542 comments) says:

    Here’s a thought.

Over at DP’s blog today, you get to learn about his fly problem over at the Cliff Top.

Over at the fracas blog, you get to view Friday Food Porn

Killing flies at DP’s < No flies (and a nice lemony scent) over at the fraccy blog.

    Seems obvious to me. ;-)

Yes but your lemons look like ……. oh never mind …….

  20. JD (The Engine Room) (4 comments) says:

I’m probably not going to design a t-shirt: they try to make me design things at work sometimes and it never comes out too well! But in terms of wording, we could play on the Fuelmyblog logo (and name, of course) with something about fire, hot or burning. Here are some ideas off the top of my head (feel free to steal):

    “Playing with fire”
    “Setting the world on fire”
    “Great fuels of fire!”
“Put another blog on the fire…”
Something to do with a “burning question” perhaps?
    “Hot stuff”
    “Too hot to handle”
    “Always hot off the press”
    “Hot enough for you?”

    You get my idea!

  21. JohnC (316 comments) says:

I’m getting visuals from JD’s rhetoric combined with Fracas knowing DP’s bag doesn’t smell like grapes.

Can Iffyton do ’scratch and sniff’ on these shirts too? :giggle snort:

  22. Daddy Papersurfer (1727 comments) says:

All I know is that Daddy Papersurfer [oh, that's me!] is giving away t-shirts [singular] tomorrow ….. the world has gone mad ……

  24. [...] funny people at Iffyton High Street have been persuaded by Kevin at Fuelmyblog, to give away more t-shirts – the fools!! I’ve already mentioned to them my doubts how sound a [...]

  25. fracas (542 comments) says:

@ John – One can’t help noticing these things when working together in a small office. Plus, you know the ventilation in there isn’t all its cracked up to be. On a warm day, when Gertrude helps DP with the clippings, well… I’m sure you can figure the rest out.

You said “If you wear it, they will scratch it!”

    I suggest…

“If you scratch, they might not wear it.”

  26. JohnC (316 comments) says:

True, but “If you scratch it, they will watch you”.

  27. fracas (542 comments) says:

@John – Hmmm. How about “If you scratch it with your watch…”

  28. JohnC (316 comments) says:

Hands on it are too small to hold up to the task at hand. “Wider is better”.

  29. fracas (542 comments) says:

@John… hey, maybe that’s why those rapper dudes (like Flavor Flav) used to wear a huge clock.

Damn… I love it when all this brainstorming actually solves one of the mysteries of the world!

We are so good here. There just ain’t anyplace better than Fuelmyblog for creativity AND genius!

  30. JohnC (316 comments) says:

@Fracas I think he’s the only one that did the clock thing. It was actual a ‘reversal spoof’ of Morgan Freeman’s bits on ‘The Electric Company’ where two people would put together parts of words in silhouette.

    Subtract the ‘l’.

  31. fracas (542 comments) says:

@John – Shush. You’re spoiling my fun and joy at thinking we solved a great mystery because we’re creative and genius.
Fine then. I’ll just go ahead and believe I’m a creative genius all by myself!
