Who thinks that Fuelmyblog should start up the FMB Bloscars?  – to be held at the same time as the Oscars next year.

Only members of FMB are eligible to be nominated and the winner of each category wins a unique teeshirt.

If  you think that this is a brilliant idea, please leave a comment and bombard the FMB team with emails.

Suggestions for catagories would also be useful. I can think of a few :-

The Best Blogger over 60

The Best Grey Blogger

The Best Blogger Using Scissorshop

The Best Blogger Married to a terrible Goddess ……

COME ON , you’ve got to do better than me ……………. surely ………

[whooooooops .... again] …… I know, THE FMB BLOGTASTICS!!!!

  3. John (14 comments) says:

Blog Idols is taken. I noticed the award is anatomically correct, lol. Attention to the small things is what makes a community. :)

I love this idea. Growing up, every Halloween my family would have a pumpkin carving contest with similarly ridiculous awards: “Most ‘person on the Scarsdale diet’ pumpkin”

It was a blast and I think this could be a blast. Great idea.

How about ‘The Best Blogger called Daddy Papersurfer’ …or would that be just silly?

  7. Daddy Papersurfer (1685 comments) says:

@Damien – we could have a blog carving contest!!! I’m not sure how it would work though ………

@Annie – Cool is my middle name [actually it's Tepid but don't tell anyone]

@Diane – That would be silly – my doppelganger might win!!!!!

  8. penfold (88 comments) says:

Didn’t I come up with all these names several years ago?
Until Kevin stole ‘BlogIdols’ from me… ;)

  9. Daddy Papersurfer (1685 comments) says:

What happened to ‘BlogIdols’? – there’s still a widgety thing over on the right …..

  10. Kevin Wilson (2 comments) says:

    yes, great idea!
    how about best newcomer?
    and funniest?

and, although i know i’d be favourite to win, most handsome…?!

    How about the ‘Fueloscars’?

& The Best Shoe Award (DP you could be in the running with your sandals !!!)

  12. John (14 comments) says:

Will someone tell me if that thing is anatomically correct, cause I can’t tell if it’s anatomically correct.

It IS…anatomically correct, isn’t it? (I don’t think Sylvie would allow misrepresentation on here.)

  13. Daddy Papersurfer (1685 comments) says:

‘The Best Shoe Award’ – singular – should go to Fracarse of course.

I like the ‘Fueloscars’ – classy

  14. 70steen (750 comments) says:

mmm maybe as she has been forced (by you)to be singularly one ’shoed’ but I am a one shoe gal too ;-)

How about The Best Lingerie ?? The Best Daily Drivel?? The Best Supporting Cupboard Member??

  15. Daddy Papersurfer (1685 comments) says:

If there was a ‘Best Daily Drivel’ award, there are several people I can think of that would stand a chance – tee hee

  16. belinha (161 comments) says:

Maybe the Floscars?!!Or is his a rude word in english?!

  17. belinha (161 comments) says:

    Or is this …

  18. Daddy Papersurfer (1685 comments) says:

    I don’t think they’re rude words Belinha ….. mind you, I don’t know them all ……..

  19. Noir (18 comments) says:

    I like the Fueloscars.

    Other options:
    The Blogulous (blog+fabulous)
    The VIBs (Very Important/Influential Blog)
The FlareUps (Continuing the Fuel theme, I was thinking first in The Fares but the dictionary says its also a kind of pants… XD)

Please correct me if they are wrong or don’t sound nicely!

  20. Daddy Papersurfer (1685 comments) says:

Noir – I for one love the name ‘The FlareUps’!!!! – I wish I’d thought of it.

[Blogulous sounds a bit like a disease - tee hee]

I tell you what…I am happy to run “The Blog Idols” If someone has some ideas on how to run it…
    http://www.theblogidols.com has an existence!

  22. Landers (6 comments) says:

@Kevind – I’ve run http://thebloscars.blog.co.uk for the last four years and am happy to help out if need be.

  23. KevinD (138 comments) says:

@Landers – Will give you a shout next week. We’ll need three hosts..!

  24. Noir (18 comments) says:

@DP – Thanks! I’m happy of having found a catchy one. Yes, the moment you point to it I saw it, Blogulous sounds like something wobbly and unhealthy… XDD

@Kevin – An idea: there can be a best blogger by category and one Very Best Blogger among them. I suppose one of the issues is how to judge who are the best ones. If you run something like blogging challenges you can measure the audience through more or less objective tools: alexa and technorati numbers, amount of comments in the chosen post, linking to video-posts and views in youtube…

And… well… other one (once you start thinking it’s so difficult to stop… ;) : Treating bloggers to participate is easy enough, but I think if you give also a price for one of the winner’s followers or anyone who have commented in the winner post or suchlike (anyone who has help to make that blogger winner) the audience will be highly motivated to join the party.
