Feb 04

We received a special parcel yesterday from Blurb – last December we compiled together a global cookbook, the content was entirely provided by the users and we ended up with 38  exciting home recipes!

The result is pretty impressive given that none of us are professional book editors – more importantly it is a tactile example of what the fuelmyblog community is about: people from all over the world with different walks of life joining together to share and give.

Talking of giving, we have 10 books to give away!

To be in with a chance to win one you must write a post about the Global Cookbook, linking to Blurb with the following link http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/485233 and if possible, a link to this post so your readers can see what we are doing!  Please leave the link to your post as a comment (bonus entry to the draw if you twitter your blog post with an RT too!).  Closing date – Valentines day – Feb 14th ;)

We’ll put all entries in a hat and pull them out randomly, probably live on FuelTV (remember that!).

The Proceeds from this book will go to Stop Hunger so not only you will have a unique cookbook but you will also be helping this amazing charity.

‘Twitter’? – what’s that exactly? and I assume RT stands for the Radio Times. So, we have to buy a copy of the Radio Times and then talk about the fantastic FMB cookbook to get more chances of winning? I have got this clear in my head now haven’t I?

…… and FuelTV? Is this a new channel on cable or is it Sky? All this new technology is very confusing ……..

If we comply and get our names in the hat twice, can we win two books? I’m only asking because there are a lot of family birthdays coming up and there is a credit crunch on you know …… BTW is there a recipe for a Credit Crunch in the cookbook? people need to have this sort of information.

Gotta go – I’m due for my special sweeties – tee hee

Hello Sylivie! I’ve reading about Blurb as I am thinking of making a small book from my collages. But I got a bit scared when I started reading about color managment.I know the kind of difficulties onde can ace when dealing with that!!Did you have any problems with photos?I am amazed because you got 38 photos taken from several different people and cameras…and from those picks up it seemslooking good!!!:)

(This is not an entry for the draw!!!

great! I will post about it! In…English? or spanish will do…? :)
I thought this cookbook was wonderful idea! and Blurb is really great. I’m planning to edit a book about with my first Blog
    Kisses!

DP…don’t worry if you don’t win there is an option to buy the book…plus there is a credit crunch recipe cooked by Kevin…it will save you lots of money!

Belinha: Hi Belinha – the biggest problem was to get the pictures looking right a lot were sent with very small resolutions so we had to rework with what we had. Dark pictures will print dark so the brightest the better. Go for it even if you only order one it will be a nice portefolio for your work ;) tee-shirts are the way forward for your collages!
Catalina: Spanish or English? Both! :)

  6. belinha (161 comments) says:

Hi again! I started to search POD for t-shirts too.But from what I have seen so far they print vector designs mostly, not pixel designs a in my collages. As I said I started just yesterday looking and I might be wrong about it.I liked Spreadshirt very much.As I keep getting no-no in job interviews I guess I’ll have to try every option available in the market…At least I have time and some skills…What a time to live in…:(

I love the book, sad that I missed the boat on this one and never got you a recipe. I did blog about it and I retweeted Kevin’s tweet, which was actually too long to RT so I had to edit it. http://twitter.com/BenSpark/status/1176844352 2 entries, I hope you get many more.

That is an awesome way to make a cookbook. I really like this kind of group collaboration thing in general, but I think this is even cooler, because it presents a very broad sampling of foods that might not otherwise ever be in the same cookbook. Bonus points because it is for charity :)

Those recipes look very good. It’s making me hungry. I am assuming the books are for sale. I am also aware of Blurb. They have bookmaking software. They will be a great friend of mine in the coming months with my poetry.

    Thanks for the email.

    Sincerely,
