We are Fuelmyblog – A Little Piece Of Me. The latest in the series of interviews highlighting Fuelmyblog bloggers and their blogs. If you wish to feature in this series simply email sylvie(at)fuelmyblog.com

What’s your name?

Supreme commander of the whole known universe or my less formal title ‘Claire’.
I normally use crpitt, but that has led to the belief that my name is in fact carpet, it’s not.

What’s the name of your blog?

A little piece of me

I go through phases of hating and the liking the title of my blog, as its something I came up with before I really knew much about the whole blogging malarkey. It should be ‘A whole lot of random outpourings from my mad mind” but that’s a bit of a mouthful.

What’s the URL of your blog?

http://crpitt.blogspot.com/
I may get round to buying my own domain, but for now I can’t be arsed.

How old is your blog?

It turned two years old on the 29th of October at 10:02pm.

If you’re willing to share, how many visitors per day do you have to your blog?

150-250 All my stats counter thingies lie so I know never really know the truth. Of course 100 of those visits could just be me.

How much time do you spend blogging every week?

Actual blogging, as in typing up something to go on my actual blog? Not long. Thinking of stuff for blog is a different matter.

Is it the creative process or the editing process which take you longest when writing a post?

I have lots of ideas swirling around this noggin of mine, so its probably the editing process that takes the longest, as I usually like to include photographs and/or doodles in all my posts. Have I just contradicted what I just wrote on the above question? Erm, crap, I don’t know.

What inspired you to first start writing a blog?

I am currently training to be a counsellor and we were encouraged to keep a personal diary. I wasn’t having much luck with the pen to paper version so I thought I would give this a whirl. It has now turned into a crazy social monster type thing of its own, which has little do with my counselling homework most of the time.

What do you do to get inspired to write?

Stuff! Like hiking, taking photographs, doodling, stealing ideas off other bloggers, counselling studies, the news, the weather and I could go on.

Is there anything that you simply refuse to blog about?

It’s a personal diary that tries not to get to personal.

If you went for a job interview and were told that you’d have to close your blog in order to get the job, how would you react/feel about it?

I would say hell no and then blog about it. In all seriousness I would have to wonder what they found so worrying about doodles, wearing a bra on my head and a non-sex toy called Willy? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Do you talk about your blog with your relatives and friends or do you avoid mentioning it?

I talk about it a lot, they just think I have imaginary friends and hope that it doesn’t turn into a problem like the last time I had some of those.

What is the biggest mistake you made when starting your blog?

Not knowing what a blog actually was and that people would actually start to read it.

Any tips for aspiring bloggers? -

1.Write something that interests you and don’t give a hairy hoot if someone else doesn’t like it or find its boring.
2.Find blogs that inspire you.
3.Have FUN
4.Treat your blog like its your own time capsule.

Who are the bloggers that you look up to the most?

I like the bloggers that I think ‘Hey I would love to go for a pint with them.’ Somehow they leave their personality stamped all over their blogs. Some of the folk that haunt this place are definitely in that category.

Do you still see yourself blogging in 5 years time?

Hmmmmm probably because it’s the best way to keep up with all my round the world buddies and I will definitely be friends with them in 5 years.

Claire’s a great gal– as funny in real life as she is here, though sounding a bit less like an excerpt from a Douglas Adams novel. :)

Plus, she’s now made me want to use the phrase “hairy hoot” in a sentence publicly. So, ya know, that’s never bad.

“Treat your blog like its your own time capsule.” – did you really write that? – it sounds far too intelligent for you.

[Claire is one of the bestest bloggers around although she is extremely lazy .......]

I really like the image of a blog as ones personal time capsule. What a refreshing way to accurately see it.

I must say I am very proud to be the first real life blogger that Claire met .. & yes she is as barking as she makes out, .. she is as colourful in real life as she is in blogworld…. wtg C x
    :-D

@Olga I wonder why you like that picture?

@Daddy P I probably stole the time capsule idea off of you and yes I am extremely lazy, you sod :)

@Damien Thanks for that, I think your blog should be something that you want to dig through and reflect on in the future. If you wouldn’t want to, why would anyone else?

@70steen and you are just as nice as you seem here! Well actually nicer :)

Yes, I like that idea of a personal time capsule too. As for telling potential employers about willie, etc … LOL yeah, not sure about that one!

I’m a huge fan of Claird’s blog!!! She’s very witty … a bit devilish … and I learn new British words alllll the time ;)

It’s not pants. I think that means it’s good.

  12. DrowseyMonkey (4 comments) says:

    Of course I mean Claire’s blog, not Claird’s. Claird’s blog sucks. ;)

  13. Daddy Papersurfer (1685 comments) says:

Not all her words are British – quite a few are Gibberish. Claire doesn’t let everyone know but she was born in the land of Gibber in a tiny village called Wetalkoutofourbottomsville …….

oo I am filling up .. thank you .. Oh & not in a Tena kinda way lol ;-)

  15. Daddy Papersurfer (1685 comments) says:

that in itself DP is slightly worrying!! :-?

(Uh oh. I think I’m in trouble.)

You lot are a hoot. And Claire took such fab pictures wearing Olga that I didn’t want to even try compete with. (Seriously… then you’d all notice how OLD I am compared to young and lovely Claire!)

And yes DM… damn that Claird! how dare she have a name so similar to Claire’s?

  18. Claire (59 comments) says:

@Drowsey, so your admitting to having a willie? Interesting :)

Devilish, not me! well maybe a bit :) And yes I am not pants, but I am wearing pants (well sometimes).

    Damn that Claird!

@Daddy O, Sorry cant hear you Oop Norf.

@70s, thanks goodness for that! lol :)

and Daddy M always worries me….

@Fracas, You definitely leave yours all over the place, which is great! I am not that young or lovely, its all the bra :)

Again I say damn that Claird!

    :)
