This week I have been in back-to-back meetings all around London with business owners, talking about blogging.

One meeting I had was with Will King, founder of The King of Shaves.  I was particularily keen to meet Will as he knows the pains involved with starting-up a company from home and trying to take on the big boys, in his case Gillette, mine MyBlogLog (yes I know, big difference, but similar pains, getting in front of people etc!).  His oil was a product I used before I left to live in France with the family, and then those damn liquid restrictions on Planes kicked-in, rendering it impossible to bring back and forth razors and liquids.  I digress..

Will and his company recently brought out a razor called the Azor, to challenge and beat the overpriced corporates and in his own words ” Shaves closer, longer and for less”.  I have to confess that I haven’t tried one as yet, hopefully, the guys will send one to me in France, beating the travel restrictions – I will blog the results as a comparison on video, now that will be different!

Anyhow, again, I digress.  The team have a “Battle Bus” touring the UK to promote the Azor and of course, some lucky people are getting to find out there and then how the razor works with demonstrations taking place, take a look here at their blog, their flickr set and youtube vid’s (I think we can say they understand social media).  Will and Tim at The King of Shaves have offered to give bloggers on Fuelmyblog a bit of a VIB (Very Important Blogger) treatment.  During the next week, the bus will be in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle (dates and time here)- by being a member of this great community (and of course living near will help!) they are offering to shave you (guys only sorry!) and let you into to the exclusive VIB zone where you can chill, use some wifi and blog the experience!  I would suggest taking someone to film the shave it would make a great fun post – I know MrsD would take great joy in filming me shaved and blog it!  They will have some exclusive (first come first served) blogger packs to take away with you too.

If you are in the area, and want to take part, please email mail me on info at fuelmyblog.com asap, you will be sent a time and date from the guys directly and you will also get to meet the team behind the Azor.

We will be involving a wider spread of shavers on FMB with The King of Shaves soon, the Azor is available in the US too..so don’t worry!

I hope to post on here pics of those on FMB already confirmed as going :)

I like the King of Shaves gel. Sometimes I have to do some searching, but I can usually find it here in Florida. Now I know the rest of the story :)

Do they shave boxes? …….. just asking

I don’t know if box is an option but they might do your legs if you ask nicely…

Thankd for the post Kevin, good to meet you, Azor bus is ready to roll, to welcome VIB’ers aboard – it’s a damn cool bus, with Guitar Hero upstairs as well as down, as you can’t be shaved forever ;-) Be sure to watch for a post from a chap I met recently, Jon Kane (www.writersbloc.co.uk) – you’ll see I have bands as well as brands on my mind. Keep on shaving! (PS – we’ll send you an Azor, let me have your French postal address).

Thanks Will, appreciate the offer! Address in email.

I see there is a lady trying to get involved with a bit of shaving too…they are never satisfied are they – you have market share of products in shops, let us men have a bit!

Indeed, I notice it is called King of shaves…no Queens mentioned anywhere… :)

Shameful sexism! I don’t feel bad at all for using my dads King of Shave stuff and blunting his razor :)

there is no warning against goddesses on the packet as far as I know…not that I have EVER used Mr Fuel’s razors or anything like that…

  9. Will King (4 comments) says:

yes, the king of shaves is equally good at delivering the queen of shaves too! although we will be taking care of the ladies next year ;-)

  10. sylvied (392 comments) says:

    ah…that’s that settled then…:)

  11. Claire (59 comments) says:

and we get to try it first if we blog about it? How kind of you ;)

  12. Will King (4 comments) says:

yes, absolutely. kos already does a lovely women’s range of shaving gels with lots of nice stuff in it, sold at tesco, boots, sainsbury’s etc etc and next year we’ll have the ladies version of the azor coming, without the normal cost increase over the men’s. drop nicky springle an email at care@shave.com and she’ll make a note to get you guys one when available…but for the moment, the men’s just as good!

Hmmm well if I woke up one morning looking forward to a nice smooth shave with my favourite King of Shaves oil, then found it was all gone due to someone having been oiling up their legs I would not be impressed. But then it’s my birthday (did I mention that?) so I’m allowed to be sexist if I want to :)

  14. Claire (59 comments) says:

@Will, that’s super I will grow out my beard at once :)

@Richard, But that would mean someone has really smooth legs and then it really would be your ‘birthday’.

  15. Richard B (23 comments) says:

@Claire Ha! I like your thinking :) maybe I could allow it now and then…

  16. Claire (59 comments) says:

Surely the alternative would be a very prickly situation?

/runs off to get some coffee.

  17. sylvied (392 comments) says:

@will: Super! I will carry on using Mr Fuel’s razor(look forward to Azor) in the meantime…ooops did I just say that?!

Claire: keep us posted on your beard’s progress :)

Richard: you gotta live a little!

  18. Richard (43 comments) says:

    @Claire very wise…
