Week eight of The Friday Five – This week the topic is cars/driving.

So, this week, we’d like the truth!:-
- The first car you remember having in the family (when you were a child, mine is below).
- What was the first car you owned?
- How many attempts did you take to pass your driving test?
- What is your current car?
- Have you ever been stopped or flashed by a camera for speeding (how many times if yes)?
1. My father had a Ford Prefect in the early 60s ….. we didn’t have a other car in our family until the 70s when my brother bought a Hilman Imp

1. I can slightly remember my mum having an Austin eleven hundred in a dark green
2. My first car was a gorgeous white Mazda 626 2.0 (I miss that car)

4. A come down from my first it’s a Ford Fiesta. But it is white

The truth?? You can’t handle the truth!! (yelled in my best Nicholson voice …)
1. 1963 White Chevy Impala with red leather interior, oooh it was fab
2. 1976 Silver Thunderbird, it was HUGE!

4. 1993 Green SAAB 900, I still adore it, can’t bear to sell it
5. Oh, far too many times to count. It used to be a ritual to get at least one speeding ticket on the drive from Calgary to Vancouver. But I’ve slowed down in my old age …
1. Blue Vauxhall Cavalier I think.
2. Never owned one.
3. Never attempted.

5. I have been stopped and flashed, but not by a camera.

2. A30 [it belonged to my grandfather who very conveniently fell off the perch at just the right time - tee hee]
3. You’re meant to take a test!!!!?! [first time of course]

5. Stopped just after passing my test doing 83mph approaching Brighton. The policeman asked me if I realised I was doing 70mph in a 50mph limit and I said the speedo was showing over 80mph actually. He let me off – I think he was due for his lunch. Been flashed a couple of times but nothing ever came of it [although I was hopeful for a bit in the public loos at Charing Cross - but that's another story]
1. A blue Ford Escort estate. Apparently we had a Wolseley before that but I can’t remember it. Didn’t last long, and was replaced by a Volvo. The first in a long dynasty of green cars.
2. Renault Clio. Black.
3. Passed first time. Innit.
4. Still got the Renault Clio! Lust after a Volvo. But I do love the Clio.
5. Nope.
On the subject of cars … do you give your car a name?
My Montego was of course Monty, my Citroen is Charlie. I have owned 2 Volvos who were known as Ovlov (volvo backwards) and my beige (yes beige) Nissan Bluebird was ‘Useless Pile of’

1. Vauxhall Viva, brown, old with plastic seats that stuck to me legs!
2. Talbot Sunbeam – not the cool vintage, the crap one with big back window, cost £50

5. 3 times, in France in ‘07, can’t take my points yet hehe, I got two on Boxing day (26th December)

They had on a flat cap and… Hang on!
The first car in my family was a green 1955 Chevrolet. I don’t remember it well. I do remember the next car, a 1963 Ford Country Squire station wagon.
My first car was a 1964 Fiat 4 door.
It only took one attempt to get my license.
My current car is a 1997 Honda Accord.
I’ve never been flashed for speeding.
