Week three of The Friday Five – This week the topic is TV.

What is it?
Simply answer the five questions below, either copy and answer on your blog linking back to here (leave the link in the comments) or just answer in the comments.

Usual disclaimer – all questions are random rubbish.

1.  What is the first TV program you remember watching?

2.  Is there a show on TV that you simply have to watch and even record it if not in?

3.  Who was your first TV star crush (def: crush = infatuation)?

4.  Dallas or Dynasty?

5.  Do you watch adverts/commercials on TV or flick channels to skip them?

That’s a wrap for this week folks, I am particularily interested in answers to Q1!

(I just looked up my first memories of a TV show on youtube – scared me a tad!)

1-L’ile aux enfants http://www.casimirland.com/ile_aux_enfants/. Loved that programm, it sends me straight back to the days of Nutella’s on sliced bread and when playing was the priority in life :)
2-The Apprentice, I am gripped to the whole series when it is on. Love the vilains!
    3-Jason Donavan in Neighbors
4- Neither…both were banned in the house…my first soap was Neighbors when I was 14 that was allowed as I used it as an excuse to improve my English…
5-Totally switch off mentally, the best targets for tv adverts are children, they love it.

    1. The Friendly Giant (A Canadian thing)
    2. Nope. None.
    3. Lee Majors (Six Million Dollar Man)
    4. Dallas
    5. Skip them mostly, unless it’s a particularly funny one. I can’t be bothered with anything else.

Rofl. Please don’t hold any of that against me.

    For me it was:-
    1. Animal Kwackers – see piccy above
    2. The Apprentice
    3. Probably Wonder Woman!
    4. Dynasty
    5. Flick over

    @sylvied – Jason Donovan – ROFL!
@fracas – Dallas was good, but Bobby Ewing coming back in the shower blew it for me!

The Adventures of Larry the Lamb!

    2. Is there a show on TV that you simply have to watch and even record it if not in?
Bones, I just love David Boreanaz..

    3. Who was your first TV star crush (def: crush = infatuation)?
    Hmmmm, see above ;)

    4. Dallas or Dynasty?
Neither, they get on my nerves!!

    5. Do you watch adverts/commercials on TV or flick channels to skip them?
Skip them, it’s usually the same thing over and over again, usually when having your breakfast you get adds for diarrhoea etc YUCK!

    Um…. ok, here goes:

    1. Ooooh, could be Bagpuss, or Fingerbobs, or maybe Chorlton and the Wheelies (“‘Ello little old lady…”)
    2. Not really, though we used to be hooked on The West Wing and ER during their heyday – was most upset if we missed one of those.
    3. Ah, Michaela Strachan, has to be…
    4. Oh Dallas – somewhere there is a photo of me on holiday in France holding a sign saying “Who shot JR?”. I seem to recall we went away at the crucial moment!
    5. There are only about 3 ads that I enjoy. Mainly i hate them. in particular: AutoGlass, PedEgg, Dysons hoover-ball and any ad for shampoo or face-cream due to them talking total rubbish… :)

@KevinD: Wonder Woman? Really? Wow, she was like someone’s mum! :)

@Richard B – Michaela Strachan? You have gotta be kidding me – you started crushes late in life! ;)

@Elizabeth Albrycht – Captain Kangaroo – as in the tune in Pulp Fiction? Didn’t have it over in the UK (I don’t think so anyway!)

  9. Richard B (23 comments) says:

@KevinD – I think I’ve done pretty well to remember that far back! Wide Awake Club was something like 1983 I reckon. Anything before that was just a blur of Lego and Star Wars figures I’m afraid…

  10. KevinD (138 comments) says:

@Richard B yeah I guess so, I forgot she was on that!

  11. Richard B (23 comments) says:

@KevinD – You were obviously blinded by the flash on sunlight of a certain old lady’s golden wrist-bands… :)

  12. Daddy Papersurfer (1685 comments) says:

    1. Muffin the Mule [which I think is legal - tee hee]

    2. Strictly Come Dancing [which I think is legal - but icky]

    3. Mortitia [The Addams Family]

    4. Dallas

    5. Turn the sound off and then on again for the ones that are brilliant little vignettes and/or comedy sketches [I can't remember any specifically at the moment but I do know them when I see them ..... [no, I do ... really!]

  13. Daddy Papersurfer (1685 comments) says:

@ no-one in particular but I used to be mistaken for Jason Donovan all the time [if it was dark]

  14. KevinD (138 comments) says:

@DaddyP – You record Strictly come dancing! Haha! (In the US it’s called Dancing with stars!)

  15. Fracas (536 comments) says:

@ Elizabeth – Oh, that firefighter was Randolph Mantooth. Unless you meant the other one, but he was the “straight and proper” one, Mantooth was the swaggery, “I don’t follow rules, I’m a HERO” guy.

    ;-)

I have just posted mine over a 70sland.

hee hee DP I so remember when muffin the mule was not a euphemism!

I didn’t mention Skippy in my post as I thought a crush on a bush kangeroo may not be appropriate…..;-)

    1. H.R. Puffinstuff.

    2. No.

    3. Kristy McNichol.

    4. Dallas. Dynasty was too snooty for most East Coasters.

    5. Flick. Flick. Flickflickflick!

@Kevin Captain Kangaroo was a children’s morning show starring Bob Keashon, Mr. Moose (puppet), Bunny (puppet), and Mr. Greenjeans (he died and they actually brought the subject of ‘loss’ out years before Sesame Street did with the death of Mr. Hooper).

I wonder if women infantuating over Lee Majors have orgasms in slow motion along with the sound effect.

    1. Sesame Street, 1972 and beyond. I am convinced I’d be half as smart without it.
    2. House. Damn that Hugh Laurie. (Most of the time I’d rather do anything to avoid TV.)
    3. He was a space pilot on a cartoon. Dreamy… http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076983/
    4. Dallas. Though I had to watch it as part of the deal with my Grandma: I could watch Dukes of Hazzard if I sat with her for Dallas.
    5. Flick. To trap oneself in front of the TV is bad enough, but to suffer through ads? Never.
