A lot of people have suggested that we have more tips and tricks on this blog, I agree. This is the first in a series of how to back-up your blogs, I hope to cover all platforms, in return all I ask is that you and fellow bloggers subscribe to this blog here
So you have put your heart and soul into your blog, added amazing images and written some great content, what happens if one day you accidentally delete your blog or your host crashes, suspends or deletes your blog? Once it is gone, it really is gone. So it is wise to make a back-up from time to time. This is how to back-up a blogspot blog. Blogger has literally just released a way of simply exporting your blogspot blog, after spending hours trawling the web for a solution I found it right under my nose!
First step is to go to draft.blogger.com.
The next step is to click on settings:-
Then you’ll go to the familiar settings page, with a new feature..Blog Tools..click on Export blog
This will take you to the following screen, simply click export blog and it’ll save your entire blog, pictures, comments and posts to your hard drive.
After searching the web for hours, I think this is something to make all blogger users very happy indeed!
Next post – how to simply back-up a Wordpress Blog.

This is great because it’s so easy to do.Many times I think about making a back up but I never did..although I have most of my contents stored. Thanks!!I will be back and do the link you asked…but now after a week in front of my PC I’m off to the beach!See you all later!
There must be some catch…that’s TOO easy!
Thanks Kevin…I’ll make sure my Blog-Mistress does this today!
Spookily I’m quite well organised. I always write my posts on a word document, complete with piccies and link information and then transfer to my blog machinary [Blogware at the moment, soon to be transferred to Wordpress]
[note to self - burn a disc of my word documents in case lappytop blows up]
I am very aware that my blog is all my children are going to inherit – tee hee
A great bit advice, I must remember to back up the my complete bonkers blog after I hit submit comment
gosh it was simple even I could do it!!! Thank you
In case disaster strikes just before you do what kevin says, you can always try google cached pages (not at all practical, but better than nothing)
A top tip (from the loverly Tango) is to set up and then subscribe to your own feedburner email subscription. This way all posts get sent direct to the inbox of your choice (I send mine to an email address that doesn’t get used for much else).
Takes minutes and makes sure all future posts are safe in between proper backups…
Another top tip (whilst I’m on the subject) is to use a hosting service that keeps a continual mirror of your site on a separate server so if one goes down there is always a copy (mine also copy my site everytime I upgrade Wordpress).
That’s it (probably)…
PS I use Dreamhost. Real people answer emails, gazillions of bandwidth, carbon neutral hosting and the easiest Wordpress install in the universe (and yes I do get a percentage)
Hate to rain on the parade here, but I just tried it and it doesn’t seem to back up PICTURES, which are one of the precious components of my blog!!
;D*
Seldom I write comments but resource really cool
Nice one… but sadly, it doesn’t back up the images.
