Larry over at Blogger&Podcaster spoke with me last week regarding an announcement about the revised fee to advertise on the USA Today front page directory, this was disclosed to me under NDA so I couldn’t tell you why you hadn’t yet been invoiced for the first free month.
They made the official announcement yesterday and it is good news for all.
“Thanks to their support of our industry we can now offer inclusion in the USA Today Blogger & Podcaster Guide (think TV Guide for blogs and podcasts to a mainstream audience) for just $5 per month…it was $49.95 monthly”.
So, everyone that has signed up will now be charged at the new rate (if you want to pay that is, expect an email detailing statistics and an unsubscribe option before first payment). So for just $5 per month, that represents much better value for money, Larry has also signed up a further 15 media partners (more coming soon), all included in the $5 monthly fee.
They are also putting together some interesting things to help those based in the USA become full time bloggers, see Larry’s post here for more.
If you do sign up, let us know your feedback under this post or click over on the small advert to the right
You can still add Fuelmyblog as a coupon code, it will get no discount but will let the guys know where you came from and you’ll get our offer of:-
The chance of winning 6 months FREE, write a blog post about us/them, leave your link in the comments section (don’t worry if you have already blogged it, it has been noted), we’ll pull TEN names out of a hat on the 15th April 2008 and each will win 6 months FREE!!!
I hope there are not too many fragile heads from celebrating St Patrick’s day

OK, I did my one free month run on the USA Today B&P and I have to say that although it looked cool to be listed, I didn’t get a single referral from them. I don’t check my stats religiously, but there was not a single time during the month where I saw a hit from them. Needless to say, I’m too much of a cheapskate to fork over even $5/month for it.
